NACIB

Born in Algiers in 1963, Rachid Nacib is a photographer and visual artist. He lives between The South of France and Algiers. His work moves along at the boundary between photography and painting.

Rather than documenting reality, Rachid’s images are conceived as sensitive constructions shaped by light, perception, and a sense of inhabiting space. His practice explores how the visible comes into being, using light not to simply illuminate, but to reveal.

Each image becomes a place of presence, inviting the audience into a quiet, contemplative experience where what appears and what fades remain in delicate balance. He is equally sensitive to environmental and spiritual themes, and he attempts—and most often succeeds—to incorporate them into his work, whether photography or painting, with a delicate and evocative touch.
